Ecstatic

Doodlers Anonymous is looking for artists who would doodle for their Coloring Book Volume 2. Participating members should send one work before January 31st and hope to be selected. Here's my doodle:

Ecstatic

Ecstatic is about a young boy who jumps high from intense happiness he feels.

Now for the fun of it, I digitally colored my doodle. The outcome? I'm pretty happy how it turned out :)

I had an epiphany while coloring my Ecstatic. During the sketching process, I wondered what my character would be wearing, its color, and all. I never knew the thought would stick all the way to the digital process.

I was oblivious.

The next two days, I was like, "I would totally wear everything my character has on". Then realized "Hey, is this a self portrait of me?".

My initial answer was 'Yes' then 'Wow' (lols) I wasn't thinking of any reference person for my character. I just focused on what cool stuff he would be wearing. Subconsciously, the idea kept whispering. Plus, the happiness and twisting of arms defines me XD

I always wanted to make a self portrait of myself, turns out, I have it :)
